The
main objectives of the PPFI are, as follows:
• Cooperation with the international and
national financial institutions on the formulation of strategies,
implementation of legal, institutional and economic policies in
the field of international economics and finance, especially the
reform in financial sector and privatisation.
• Regional co-operation on the reconstruction efforts of
South East European Countries, such as appraisal, evaluation and
implementation of public investment, public expenditure management
reform, etc.
• Undertaking research in the field of finance
• Promotion of reforms through conferences, seminars and
training courses in the field of public and private finance.
• Establishment of library resources with contemporary publications
in the field of economic development and international finance.
However, two will be the main pillars of the work
for the Institute.
Public Finance: PPFI will focus
on the ongoing reform of public expenditure management by actively
participating in the preparation of legal reform (fiscal decentralization);
in the reform aiming to strengthen budget planning and achieving
a more effective use of public resources by increasing the fiscal
transparency in public funds.
Private Finance: The active participation
in improving private sector development environment by providing
the assessment of existing policies and recommendations for further
improvements.
