June 2001 - PPFI became part of regional research on “Restructuring and Development of the Banking Sector in Advanced Transition Countries: Lessons to be learnt by other transition economies”. The institute worked on the research ”Bank Restructuring Reform in Albania during the last ten years”. The Partners for Financial Stability, a co-operative initiative of USAID and East West Management Institute, financed the study. Full Paper.

December 2001 - Research "Comparative Analysis of Corporate Governance and Shareholder's rights in South Eastern European Countries" won by the PPFI and its executive director as a Award - Alumni Small Grants Program" provided by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, Support for East European Democracy (SEED) Act.

May 2002 – Research project funded by Global Development Network (GDN) to undertake a regional research on “Globalisation and Equity”. This research paper was presented at an international conference in Cairo on January 2003. Full Paper.

July 2002 – July 2005 This is a three year project managed by OECD and funded by OECD/EBRD/EU DG Enterprise. The OECD has provided a research grant for enterprise policy assessment in the Balkan region, covering 10 countries. This project is part of development efforts at a regional scale in frame of Investment Compact, Stability Pact for SEE countries. The country assessment, including a regional assessment will be prepared jointly by OECD/EBRD/EU DG Enterprise in cooperation with local institutes. PPFI is the selected Albanian institute for performing such assessment. The main aim for this is to assess the extent of a country’s progress in developing and implementing policies for enterprise and SME development and in particular to obtain private sector feedback and views about the effectiveness of enterprise policy.
